The lush greenery of the surroundings is accentuated by the cascading Hebbe Falls that lie in an area of coffee plantations.

Legend has it that Chikamagalur coffee has an Arab connection. It was a pilgrim- Baba Budan also known as Hazarat Shah Janab Allah Magatabi, who sowed the seeds for the history of coffee in India when he got seven seeds of coffee from his pilgrimage to Mecca. The saint sowed the seeds in his garden near a cave in Chandragiri hills, now known as Baba Budan Hills in his honor. The coffee grown in Chikamagalur is of two types – Arabica and Robusta.
